But we know stuff happens! If you want to stop by we will do our best to accommodate you.
Axe Throwing is FUN!

Many people have wanted to join our leagues but they don’t want to be competitive. So we created a fun rec-league or ‘beer league’!
Beer league runs every Thursday evening starting at 7pm. Members can join the league at any time, as there are no fixed start or end dates.
The league welcomes participants of all skill levels and backgrounds, fostering a supportive and inclusive community of axe throwers.
Experience the thrill of standard axe throwing, big axe throwing, and knife throwing all in one league.
Tribal Axe has been an official member of the World Axe Throwing League (WATL) since 2018. There are 4 seasons each year.
We are starting the Spring 2023 Season on April 16th, 2023.
Sign-Ups are now OPEN! Details and Sign-ups here
- Can children come into the axe range? Yes, however, they must be 12+ to participate in axe throwing. Younger children must be supervised closely because they can’t run around the axe range.
- I’m pregnant, can I do this? Absolutley! We’ve had several pregnant women come in and they had a blast. One was due the next week!
- How many people are on one ‘lane’? Each lane has one target and a ‘bay’ has 2 lanes. 2 – 8 people can comfortably fit on one bay. We schedule bays in groups of 8, so if you have 8 or less people you’ll get 1 bay, groups of 9 – 17 will get 2 bays and so on.
- I told people I was going Axe Throwing and now they want to join! Is that a problem? Hopefully you read the answer above first. Adding to your group is usually not a problem. We do our best to accommodate every single group. Of course, this depends on availability and is very difficult on super busy days / times.
Absolutely! We will do a short overview of the rules and a brief introduction to axe throwing.
Reservations are highly recommended. Especially on the weekend. However, we do try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible.
You can make a reservation on the ‘RESERVE’ tab above.
We require a 7 day cancellation notice in order to receive a refund on your payment or deposit.
At this time we do not. Unfortunately, we had to stop doing this due to not being able to verify military status online.
We highly recommend wearing closed toed shoes for safety reasons. You can participate with open-toed shoes, but we do not recommend this.
Absolutely, go to our WAIVERS page and sign the Adult Waiver or the Minor Waiver if someone in your group is under 18.
Just let us know that you’ve signed the waiver once you come in.
No. We have a full bar and restaurant. No outside food or drinks. (with the exception of birthday cakes, cupcakes, etc. for celebrating special occasions.)
Yes you can, as long as your axe is under 2 lbs and does not exceed 20 inches.
Yes, you must be at least 12 years old to participate in axe throwing.

Axe Throwing Rules
Rule # 1
It’s common sense, but our lawyers made us say it. “Axes can hurt if they hit you!” Don’t throw an axe if someone is in front of you or near the target. Keep a clearance area of at least 6 feet surrounding the target.
Rule # 2
Stay within the ‘safety zone’ when throwing your axe. At Tribal Axe our safety zone is a red line marked on the floor . There is also a blue and black line marking throwing distance.
Rule # 3
If there is an emergency please place your axe down and notify an axe coach immediately.
Basic Axe Throwing Technique

Step 01
Place both hands on the axe. Firm like you’re holding a baseball bat. Make sure the blade is perfectly straight.

Step 02
Bring the axe back, over your head, similar to the motion of throwing a soccer ball over your head. Lean back.

Step 03
Bring the axe forward, in a fast motion and release with your arms extended forward.
Advanced Axe Throwing Technique

Step 01
Visualize your target. Put one foot forward. Swing your arm down, to the side.

Step 02
When the axe passes your leg, bring it up quickly.

Step 03
When the axe is over your head, bring it forward like throwing a ball.

Step 04
When your arm is parallel to the ground, release the axe. To ensure proper release, let your arm follow through.
